Holme Moss Camping

Book now for the nearest flat campsite to the iconic Holme Moss - the most challenging climb for cyclists in the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire

Accommodation adjacent to the route of the climb of Holme Moss during the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart is extremely limited, but you can join us at our campsite for a minimum of 2 nights before and after the day of the race on the 6th July 2014.

The site will open on Thursday 3rd July 2014 and close on Tuesday 8th July 2014 for you to extend your stay and enjoy the beautiful Holme Valley.

Why book Holme Moss Camping for your Tour de France Grand Depart stay in Holmfirth?

If you have done your research you will probably know the following, but if not then we have done it for you:

- Unlike all other sites we are located on the actual route of the race at the foot of Holme Moss

From the front gate of the site to the top of the climb is just 2.5 miles - other sites are much further away

- Holme Moss Camping is a flat campsite unlike other sites located up steep hillsides! Imagine having a long, hot, tiring day watching the race and then having a long uphill climb to get back to your campsite - no fun!

- The pubs and facilities of the villages of Holmbridge and Holme are a short stroll away straight down or up the main road.  Most other campsites have a long downhill/uphill walk to get to any services!

- If you want to eat on-site we will have catering available throughout the weekend with an increased number of food vendors available on the day of the race itself.

We offer a large site with direct access from the A6024 just west of the Pennine village of Holmbridge with good toilet and water facilities, free parking area for clients (1 car/MPV per pitch), on-site catering and close proximity to the villages of Holmbridge, Hinchliffe Mill and Holme with their pubs and other facilities, plus the busy town of Holmfirth is less than 2 miles away.

Travelling to the Holme Moss Camping site could not be easier - by bike we are only a half day ride for even the occasional cyclist from the major cities of the M1/M62 corridor such as Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds Wakefield & Bradford, but for those of you choosing 4 wheels over 2 for your trip to the Holme Valley the journey times from all these cities is less than an hour.

Huddersfield, Manchester, Wakefield and Sheffield all offer mainline railway stations with our nearest stations being Honley, Brockholes, Glossop and Greenfield.

Free on-site parking will be available for 1 car or MPV per pitch and this represents a massive advantage over people visiting only for the day of the race as parking and access to the Holme Valley and Holme Moss itself will be very limited on the day.  For this reason alone we must insist on a 2 night minimum stay on the Holme Moss Camping site.
